The LIGHT in the midst of the darkness…
In the midst of a world full of challenges, it can seem like being a faithful believer is more difficult than ever in history. Each day, we face evil situations and it would be easy to assume that “darkness” reigns in the midst of our world. Many times, we often struggle with this, especially because it becomes increasingly simply to blame God for the struggles that we face. When life seems unfair and sin surrounds us, the darkness that clouds our hearts and minds desires to separate us from our ever-loving God. In this season of Epiphany, however, the LIGHT of the World – our Lord Jesus – comes to remind us that darkness has already lost and the Light shines brightly through the darkness. He won the victory for us through His death and resurrection, allowing us to celebrate His place as the Light of the world and live out our faith. By the power of the Holy Spirit, God works through us to call all those around us out of the darkness and into His marvelous Light. Even in the midst of our faults, God moves us to repent and meets us with complete forgiveness, allowing us to know true Light in Him, who never stops caring for us and promises that NOTHING separates us from His love. As His people, let us continue to live in His Light by the power of the Holy Spirit, knowing that we have been granted the life-changing, transforming gift of His grace. Let us be exactly who HE calls us: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).
Peace & love in Jesus,
